Compliance in a flash...Compliance with mDash!
Of the violation codes that have resulted in Out-Of-Service violations over the past five years, the top 5 codes in each of those years were related to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
These were:
- No record of duty status
- False report of duty status
- Driver failing to retain previous 7 days’ logs
- Requiring or permitting a driver to drive after the consecutive duty hour limit
- Requiring or permitting a driver to drive more than the maximum driving limit
All of these violations can be avoided with the use of ISE Fleet Services' mDash 4. For carriers with the greatest compliance challenges, a "remedial directive" could force installation of EOBRs in all vehicles. Others anticipate that the EOBR mandate will be expanded to include additional fleets, such as bus fleets and hazardous materials haulers. But for the vast majority of fleets, the productivity, efficiency and cost savings to be achieved with EOBRs are reason enough to make the switch now.
ISE Fleet Services' mDash 4 is a rugged, easy to install touch screen computer that is designed to meet FMCSA section 395.16 requirements for EOBR performance. It includes all peripherals needed to capture an automated record of duty status that complies in "form and manner" and meets the information, retention and submission requirements of section 395.15. The mDash 4 also provides a clear upgrade path to 395.16-compliant electronic driver logs (EDLs) without purchase of additional or replacement hardware.
There has never been a better time to throw out the paper log book and transition to EDLs. Let ISE Fleet Services help you move beyond manual and error-prone HOS compliance. mDash 4 and eFleetSuite are available now. Give us a call.
